We love what we do
We are committed to quality. We believe in designing, engineering, and handcrafting quality structures that will stand strong for generations.
We have stayed away from automation, which allows us to do custom work. We like to hand-cut our beams, because hand-cuts offer the most control, allow for more design options, and keep great people doing great work in our shop.
About Caledon Timberframes
Crafted by Hand. Built to Endure.
At Caledon Timberframes, we build more than homes—we build legacies.
Every frame we create is handcrafted in our Caledon workshop by a small, dedicated team who believe that real craftsmanship never goes out of style.
Founded on the principles of traditional timber framing, our company was built to keep a timeless craft alive in a modern world.
Today, we proudly combine centuries-old joinery techniques with today’s best design practices—bringing beautiful, durable timber frames to homeowners, builders, and architects across Ontario.
Meet our Leadership
We are a tight-knit group of craftsmen with backgrounds in carpentry, timber framing, and construction.
Each of us brings a different skill set to the table, but we share a common belief:
there’s no substitute for real craftsmanship.
From first sketch to final raising, we work together in the shop and on-site to ensure every frame that carries the Caledon name stands tall—for lifetimes to come.
Roland Skuce
Owner + Timberframer
Roland grew up working with his family's custom home building company. Through working with various trades he developed a passion for carpentry and working with his hands. He took these skills to School where he studied Residential Construction Engineering. Upon graduating he decided to pursue his love of carpentry and craftsmanship at the College of the Rockies in British Columbia. After graduating the Traditional Timberframing Program he moved back to his hometown of Caledon where he has been designing and building timberframes ever since.
Dan Wray
Owner + Timberframer
Dan studied Construction Engineering Technology and carpentry Techniques. Upon graduating, he completed the Traditional Timberframing program at College of the Rockies. He honed his craft working for several years as a carpenter in Calgary before moving back to Ontario to co-found Caledon Timberframes. He takes great pride in his work, never accepting anything but perfection.
A Caledon timber frame is more than just beams and joinery—it’s a return to authenticity, durability, and artistry.
In a world of prefab and shortcuts, we take pride in doing things the right way—the time-tested way.
